Safeguarding Children
Keeping children safe begins with fostering a strong child-safe culture. At Dolphin Ave Early Learning Centre, we do this by supporting the growth and capability of our educators and ensuring every child is seen, supported and protected each day.
Safeguarding underpins every part of our Centre - from the design of our environments to how our educators are recruited, trained and supported. Every child has the right to be respected, we always aim to ensure our environments foster safety and encourage children to feel empowered to share their thoughts and concerns. Through continuous improvement and critical reflection we are consistently strengthening our child safety approach.

The safety of children is embedded across all levels of our organisation with strong governance and proactive leadership. We will always maintain a zero tolerance approach to child abuse.
What can you expect from us?
Child Safe Standards and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
Our approach to child safety aligns with the QLD Child Safe Standards which are based on the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
The Principles are underpinned by a child-rights approach and guide our policies, practices, and culture to strengthen child safety and wellbeing in our centre, families, and community.
Environmental Design to promote visibility and safety
Our centre has been purposefully designed to enhance supervision with openness and clear vision at the forefront.
CCTV operates throughout the centre to aid in oversight and increase security. Our facial recognition system ensures that only authorised persons can enter the premises keeping everyone safe.
Child focused recruitment
All our educators are carefully screened throughout the recruitment process. All qualifications, references and working with children checks are verified prior to an educator starting with us.
Our code of conduct sets clear boundaries for safe, professional and respectful behaviour for all of our staff, volunteers and visitors.
Media, Privacy and Consent
At Dolphin Ave Early Learning Centre only service issued devices are used to capture images and videos of children. Strict controls apply to the storage, sharing and use of children's images. No identifiable images of children are used in our marketing, online platforms, or social media.
No photos are taken of children without the express consent of a parent or guardian.

At Dolphin Ave Early Learning Centre, we operate independently of a large corporate structure and multiple layers of management. Our owners are readily accessible and available to discuss any queries or concerns at a time that is convenient for you.
Child Safety and Mandatory Reporting Training
The team at Dolphin Ave Early Learning Centre are all trained in Child Safety and on their Mandatory Reporting requirements. Training is carried out every 2 years to maintain up to date knowledge and best practice.
Our team is able to respond to any concerns and follow clear policies to ensure reporting pathways are followed.

Queensland’s new child safeguarding law, the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 came into effect on 1 October 2025. It comprises two parts: Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
